July 7–To The Endless Mountains, Pennsylvania

Yesterday we didn’t really do anything and didn’t feel the need to. The weather was just OK. There were hikes we could have done but they all involved long drives and didn’t sound unique enough to be worth it.

Today we moved north and west into the area they call the Endless Mountains.

We are at the Pioneer Campground for four nights to visit two nearby state parks that the RV wouldn’t fit into.

This looks like a really great place. The host was very nice and helpful. She took us to look at the site she had assigned us and decided that it would be too hard for us to get into so she put us into a bigger double site. We will have to share it on Friday night but that shouldn’t be a problem.

The only problem for Jennie is that we are in the trees so no satellite TV. They do have a cable TV hookup at each site with about 40 channels but that means no PVR and having to watch the commercials. The WIFI is also somewhat unreliable but we will survive somehow.

The forecast for the rest of the week does not look too good. Today was beautiful and it seemed terrible to “waste” it but after the drive and setting up, I was too tired to head out for a hike.

Instead we just wandered up to the pool for a long float.

The water was just warm enough that it was easy to walk in.
